What do you do when a drawer in your Ikea dresser is completely broken?

Drawer

All Hail Hypnotoad! asks:

Nails and duct tape on the back no longer work…is there a way to replace the drawer, without getting a new dresser?
I’ve also used superglue, in addition to nails, and taping for an hour…lasts a week. It’s irreperably broken.

  1. If you cannot get a new drawer from Ikea look for a local custom cabinet maker that can either repair or make a new drawer.

  2. Ikea has beautiful furniture to look at, but the quality is poor. At least in my experience. You’re better off not buying there.

  3. Your two choices are make a new drawer yourself, or contact Ikea.. and see if they will sell you a replacement drawer…

Nothing is ever completely broken, clamps and Titebond 3 woodglue would probably fix your drawer….

  4. Ist I would give Ikea a call maybe they can order you a new drawer. Otherwise if its made out of wood it can be fixed. If you know a handyman or someone who works with wood they can probably either fix it or make you a new drawer. It should be fairly inexpensive. Good Luck.
