yer let them charge overnight i do with mine and they do get hot but thats just because electricity is running through them, anything that is on like if you play your wii for a while and feel the side of it after its been on for about 1 hour it will be hot. its normal so you dont have to worry about it. trust me its not gonna catch on fire or anything ive left them on there for about 1 week and they got really hot but nothing happened. btw i left them on for that long because i didnt play it for ages. hope i helped! 🙂

  1. No. I wouldn’t charge them any more than you have to.

You see, Wii Remote charging stations all go “stale” at some point. You charge it, but even when you’re not using the remote it loses charge. Later on, you’ll put it in to charge, and it’ll take about 10 seconds to charge fully. Then when you use it, the battery is practically dead already.

Wii Remote chargers are a work in progress. All Wii Remote chargers do that, there’s no exception. Until Nintendo makes their own charger, I don’t think there will ever be a reliable Wii Remote Charger.

Anyways, you want to delay that inevitable fate as much as possible, so don’t overuse the charger. Take the Wii Remotes out as soon as they’re done charging. At this point, they should still be able to hold the charge when not in use. This way, the charger will last you a year, if you’re lucky…

But once it does finally go “stale”, give it up and get some rechargeable NiMH batteries.
