Cutting Plastic Bars on Garage Shelving Unit?

Shelving Unit

btime asks:

Im getting a plastic garage shelving unit, and I need to cut the bars to make the spacing between each shelf smaller. Can anyone tell me the best way and what to use to cut them down?

You’ll want a saw with very fine teeth. The rule of thumb is to get a blade where 3 teeth will be making contact withe material cut. Since the plastic probably pretty thin, you might not be able to do that, but the finer the teeth, the better. I would suggest a miter box, to keep the cuts square.
