What are some ways to prevent the shower curtain from moving inward and sticking to you during your shower?

Shower Curtain

me 🙂 asks:

I am not asking why it does it… b/c i searched and looked at several questions that answer this… I am wondering how to prevent it? I know I could buy a heavier shower curtain… but even that would still want to flow inward… i am asking how to prevent it completely…

I have been in showers in hotels before where the curtain does not flow inward. So… how do I keep mine from floating inward?

Use little magnets to stick it to the tub, or add weights to the curtain. Some curtains come with them already inserted. Or install a curved shower curtain.

And the hotel curtains don’t move because they’re heavier.

Here’s an interesting article on the subject:

  1. I suggest that if the surface has metal underneath it, you use magnets.Mant tubs are cast iron with enamel paint. You can find a huge variety of magnets to adapt to your unique requirement. By the way, the scientific explanation of the curtain’s movement is the Bernoulli effect.

  2. if you spend a bit more on a better curtain it will not float around so much. otherwise the curved rods are effective and easy to install.

  3. usually the ones that float inwards are the lightweight plastic ones. I have a cloth outer curtain, then plastic liners, tho they are heavy weight, so the just lay flat and don’t stick. They r quite more expensive but well worth it.

  4. i did this, button on two small suction cups on each left and right side of the curtain, when showing just press the cups against the tile.its works.u can get these @ your local hardware store or arts and craft.some shower curtains even comes with them.
