Seriously, how do you fix towel bars and toilet paper dispensers when they pull out of your wall?

Towel

Figgie asks:

You know, the anchors that keep them in place get loose and the towel bar or TP dispenser just hangs away from the wall. How do you fix that?
Rob S- TP dispensers wouldn’t reach across to both studs, so what do you do in that case?

You have to repair the dry wall and use the wall anchors that spread after they are put in the wall.

  1. Fix the holes in the walls and mount screws into studs only. I haven t seen a wall anchor hold towels for a long period of time they all come out eventually . GL

  2. google” winged toggle bolts” the wings fold up then you push it thru the hole in your wall. the wings spread out then you tighten the screw. you can buy them at any hardware store.

  3. Change the anchors to the type that open behind the wall when inserted or the metal type that spread out. Plastic anchors do not work well with items that have any force used on them.
