I write for a magazine in another country and receive the mag in a pdf file every month How do I …?

AndThenThereWasLight asks:

The mag I write for becomes available this week online as a pdf file just prior to going to print.

How do I pluck out my article from the 100 page pdf file? I use the regular free version of adobe and need to be able to send my one page articles to people without sending them the whole pdf of the whole magazine.

Thanks!

You can do screen printing i.e. “prtscrn” button on your keyboard and then paste it to Microsoft paint or Words. Thus people can see how it looked/was printed in that magazine.

  1. You can press the button Prt Scrn on your keyboard, go on your favorite photo compiling program, and pasting the picture taken the way you would paste text. After you have done so, simply select the portion of the picture taken that you would like to submit, cut it, paste it in a new picture file, and save it. Recommended file type: .bmp or .png

  2. You’re gonna’ LOVE this solution!
Go to http://www.dopdf.com/ and download this awesome free utility. Once installed, you will see it in your list of printers!

Open the .pdf document containing your article.
Find and note the page numbers
Go to file > print > select the dopdf printer
Enter the page numbers and then print to create a new document which you will name and save.

This new .pdf can be sent via email…

You might also want to go to portableapps.com There is a portable version of this you can carry on a flashdrive!
