I have a black and gold (zebra-like design) sofa, with other other gold and black furniture. My biggest problem however is finding a wall color that would go well with them.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the “painted” rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think “euphoric lilac” (# 6835) might be a great choice for the wall color.
You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they’ll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like
I think your best (and possibly only) options is a light golden honey shade on the walls. Gray would work too but would create a “cooler” look to the room. Unless you have accent pillows with another color in them, then use gray or honey.

Go to this site and choose the living room with the black furniture to get an idea how a color might look. Of course, it will look different in your room depending on light. Maybe something like “Wheat grass”??
look to a very muted- lightest tint of gold paint you can find it will warm and compliment the room without competing with your furnishings(and please don’t go with the reds suggested -it will look like a brothel)
red would make it POP
Hi,
I am in a similar boat, well this boat actually.
The interior decor is black, with brass trimmings.
The strong lighting & pot-belly stove just make the place comfy.
The windows are tinted purple, the carpeting is purple, the outside is black, with “gold” script etc.
Fellow boaties think I am a bit mad with the colour scheme, but many like the daft craft.
Try purple on the wall, perhaps.

pull the gold out and paint the walls that colour

you could create a feel of Africa in the room if you like by adding art using black frames

Red. Maybe a darker red.
white
off white
beige
some where in that area.
i think any color would be good since most colors go well with black & gold. but i’d probably use a bright color so i wouldn’t dull out the room.
