How do I get nail polish off carpet/rug?

Thinking that it was closed, I lifted the polish up by its lid and accidentally spilled dark blue polish on my sister’s beige carpet/rug. They’re not huge stains, but I need help. I tried spot shot (good day for the spray to get stuck :] ) and I tried hairspray. I don’t have acetone.

Using a nail scissors in an open V, carefully work as much of the polish off as possible. For stubborn areas, work as much of the polish off as possible then carefully clip the topmost part of each carpet strand.
Tedious, yes, but it works, is not noticeable, and keeps you out of trouble with sis.

Just like getting nail polish off your nails. Try using some nail polish remover but, use a latex glove so you do not smudge your nicely painted nails. Dark blue polish is so pretty. I like emerald green.

clip out all the fibers where the polish is. glue more fibers on there from hidden places elsewhere in the carpet.
