Susan Salvo, author, instructor, massage therapy expert, shares her chair massage techniques. She blends joint mobilizations, massage techniques, and Tragerlike moves into a fantastic routine. Many of these techniques are featured in her first book, Massage Therapy: Principles and Practice. Don’t forget that practice makes perfect, so grab a massage chair, a willing client and try your hand at chair massage.
Nice techniques! Very informative and professional. For several reason it seems like a deep tissue work, but is specialized for chair massage.
Anyway, i would like to ask, what technique should a massage therapist use if the client is sensitive to touch (ticklish)?
You can just avoid the ticklish area or ask the person to place his or her hand over yours (it is often difficult to tickle yourself – this doesn’t always work).
i have your book, well i use it for my massage school. love it!
I am so glad you like it. Working on the next edition now. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
6:41-7:13- That would put me in a temporary comatose, lol.
Thanks. I hope you needed the nap.
this is a very relaxing vid. i hope to do this as a career one day lol
Best seated massage video I’ve seen yet. Very informative and motivational – you make it look easy when I know its not. Thanks for uploading it.
Thanks for you comment. And this was my third seated massage in a row. I try to let therapists know that this is a physically demanding profession, which is one of the reasons I LOVE it.
Thanks for posting this. Please demonstrate lower back and leg massage with seated massage clients. Thank you.
Great idea.
I envy that girl on the chair lol I really NEED a nice and professional massage like that to relieve the huge pains ive been feeling in my shoulder and arms muscles :/

Thanks Rebecca, I’m honored that you consider me one of your instructors (indirectly).
