If I put a tumble dryer in a cloakroom , closet or wardrobe will it work ok or is it likely to break?

The wardrobe won’t have any clothes in it.
the wardrobe will be a computer room, the wardrobe itself is built into the house

As long as it is properly vented and the power supply is up to code you can put it where you want as long as the cabinet is rated zero clearance. You will need to allow for the intake of air into the closet if you plan to use it with the door closed; any time you vent air out you have to get it somewhere.

As long as you have the ventilation available for it, you should be fine. They make stackable washers and dryers to fit in apartment closets so it shouldn’t be a problem. As long as there is a place for the hot air to go, you are fine.

My washer and dryer are both in a closet. The closet only holds them and nothing else except for a shelf above them. A lot of houses are being built this way now-a-days. They should work fine. We’ve had the same washer and dryer for 7 years.

It needs to be put in an area where the electrical is to code (voltage) and where it is properly vented (to code). Putting a dryer in a closet wardrobe with clothes that could catch fire is not a wise idea. Also, a fair amount of lint will attach itself to the clothes too in a wardrobe. Best to place in a room without fire hazard possibility.

It’s likely to overheat and wear out faster.
