I am a teacher, and I’ve had students do this before…alcohol will work. Remember if you are using a white board this will dry out the natural oils in it and you will have to get the white board spray that restores the boards natural oils or else the board will eventually dry out, and become unwipeable and unusable. So clean it with that spray on a consistent basis.

OOOOOOPPPSSS!!!!! try a little Goof-Off or alcohol, on a rag not on the surface directly…it may be ruined anyway i’ve never had that happen and i have a dozen grandchildren…(you’d think atleast one of them would’ve come up with doing that, after all one of them washed a bunch of plaster of paris down the bathroom sink, where for some odd reason it expanded and hardened in the pipes and cause all kinds of joy in my life for a while.)

WD-40 will work, but it may damage surface…A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser may work.

use any thing that has acetone in it. If you can use rubbing alcohol first. It’s the strongest that ive seen. Get a paper towel and put some of the alcohol on it then rub rub rub. You will have to use some elbow grease to get it off but it will eventually come off. Also ive found that this doesn’t work for red perm ink. on hard plastic surfaces water will get the red off.

I found out on accident that wiping a dry erase marker over permanent marker takes it off. It may take a little time but it will work.

MOMOFDA OR WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS. RIGHT ON!!!! THE DRY ERASE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. ONCE OVER AN IT COMES RIGHT OFF.

Rubbing alcohol or WD-40, or taking your nail and scrapping it off.

Acetone which is most readily available as nail polish remover. Use with care….its toxic.

Just use some tissue dipped in a little rubbing alcohol. Any kind should do. Permanent marker is concentrated so flip it a few times and use a new piece until it’s gone.

  12. Jeffrey H says:

Try tracing over the permanent marker lines with the dry erase marker that came with the white board. Beleive it or not it works…don’t know how or WHY though.

denatured alcohol. you can get it from most hardware stores. it is very smelly so be sure to use adequate ventilation.

that happened to my dorm mates and what we did was dab at it with cotton and a little alcohol.. lol

not so sure if it’s the best idea but if you’re in a hurry to get it off and can’t go buy something special try that.

I’ve done it too. Believe it or not “Mr. Clean Mircle Eraser” will get it off.
