    Hi,
I’ve been looking at something like your waste oil burner to use against frost in the vineyard where I work. If you have plans available for this burner they would be most appreciated.

  2. imortl99 says:

Great setup. I’m also interest in plans if your still sharing the wealth. Cheers. imo

  3. mar8hall says:

This looks like the best drip feed setup I’ve seen! I too would love to get the plans. You ought to be selling them. Thanks, Marshall

  4. ozzirt says:

Selling is for the ripoff merchants.

Their plans are rarely workable anyway, anyone who is willing to build a heater can have mine for nothing and alter them to suit their needs.

I’ve left my details on your Home page,

    Spike.

how/where can I get plans for this? especially the oil dripper assembly, the rest is pretty well described in the pic on photobucket (followed a link)… I need to build one soon! winter is coming! THANKS!

  6. ozzirt says:

Steve, I have no plans of the dripper, because it is “just that”, a pipe dripping oil into the pan through a simple mechanism that allows me to open a slot so that the pan can be removed by sliding it forward.

I’ve left you a PM on your home page.

    Spike.

  9. ozzirt says:

I have left a Private Message on your Profile page as it appears they won’t allow you to post Links here.

    Cheers,
    Spike.

That’s best system Ive seen so far. Could you please send me plans?

  11. rscbodycraft says:

This heater actually looks like it works.

Could you send me some drawings of how to make one for my workshop, i have been trying to make one for ages that doesn’t smoke.

  12. ozzirt says:

It does work, although it will possibly need higher fuel consumption than I use here in Australia.

My usage is 1.25 litres per hour, the one being used in a machine shop in England uses up to 5 litres per hour in mid winter.

As YouTube do not allow the posting of links in these comments. I have added an annotation to the last 30 seconds of the Video clip to link to the plans.

This page is only a few hours old and will be added to and improved, as time and information becomes available.

  13. rscbodycraft says:

Is there any chance i can send you an email with how far i have progressed so far, and my results.
They are variable to say the least but promising never the less.

wow…cool heater i really would like to have specs and drawings i would be thankful for any help…stay warm and thanks agin

  16. Mk18T says:

Good video, looks like a nice job…does it get badly coked up quickly?

  17. ozzirt says:

I find that the primary burner pan should be cleaned out daily,… I have known it to go for three days, but I always clean it out daily where possible, as the ash/soot is much easier to remove.

  18. marcibb says:

Nice setup, How do you get the heat to circulate through out the hole house?

  19. ozzirt says:

I have no actual heat distribution system, and really need a fan forced air duct into the front of the house. But even without this, I get enough natural recirculation.

So far, this has been good enough to discourage me from climbing into the ceiling to install it. Of course it must be realised that our winters are not as cold or long as those in Europe or the USA. Conversely our houses are not really insulated either.

  20. lik2waterski says:

do you sell plans? I would like to build a heater like this one.. Very nice!!

  21. ozzirt says:

    Hi,

A set of rough drawings and an explanation are able to be downloaded FREE at the Link quoted in the “Information” under the video clips title.

There is also a Contact page there , where you can contact me directly for any additional help.

This Link is also at the end of the Clip.

I love it. I just built an oil heater and it gets the place plenty warm in a hurry but I can’t get it to burn clean. It looks like a wood burning stove with the damper on. What’s the secret? I’ll email you the link to the heater I built. Thanks!

  23. havocdaemon says:

You are officially my new hero. I’ve already built a basic waste oil burner based (very rouchly) on your design, but at present it’s rather inefficient and hideous to look at. I used an old tractor rim I cut in half and some steel pipe I commandeered and drilled without a template. When I do get it fully operational I’ll be sure to send you a picture of it heating my shop in the miserable Canadian winter! Thank you for the inspiration!

  24. yonmoore says:

I got mine going and burning hot! Thanks for the help Spike! It still coughs a bit here and there but I think I just need a few more holes drilled in that secondary burner.

  25. ozzirt says:

That’s great, just don’t go overboard with the extra holes.

Drill them small and enlarge them as you need to, as excess air only cools your flue gasses and destroys your draft.

Another video clip or some photos would be really great if you get time. I really like to see how different people go about getting their heaters going with what materials they have available.

    Stay warm!!
