How do I get into a locked chest?

My aunt recently passed away, and my family took home an empty chest of hers. We were using it as a coffee table, and one night when I was bored, I locked it before realizing that we have no key to get into it.

How do I get into it without breaking the lock or the chest?

    Ok, that’s easy.
    First, find a high elevation.
Secondly, place a jar somewhere on the ground near the elevation.
Then, make sure you get on top of that elevation alive
Finally, throw the locked chest down, aim for the jar.
If you were accurate enough, you have the broken locked chest in a jar. Congratulations!

    u can pick the lock

get a bottle of keyboard dust off turn it upsidedown and spray it on the lock for 10-30seconds (entill u see the metal frosting up) this will freeze the lock now just tap it with a hammer and itll scatter
this will break the lock but it will be a clean break that doesnt ruin the chest
i only know this cuz i saw it on tv and i decided to ruin every lock in the house with it… needless to say i have no privacy

Locksmithing began as the science and art of making and defeating locks. A lock is a mechanism that secures buildings, rooms, cabinets, objects, or other storage facilities. A key is often used to open a lock. Means of opening a lock often include what you know (a combination), what you have (a key or keycard) or what you are (biometrics).

Locksmithing is one of the earliest forms of security engineering.[citation needed] Lock picking was one of the first methods of cracking security systems.[citation needed] The oldest known lock was approximately 4,000 years old and was of Egyptian make. It was found in the ruins of the Emperor Sargon II’s palace in Khorsabad. It used the same pin tumbler principle employed by many modern locks.[1

You can try to pick the lock….or if it comes to it, you’ll have to break it. Ask your family if they know of a key or can help pick it.
