What is the best way to clean a throw rug?

I just moved into a new house and the previous tennants left behind a pretty grey throw rug. But it’s dirty and smells awful, like dogs or something. I don’t have anything against dogs, having two myself, but how to clean the carpet and get the smell out?
Sorry….carpet like throw rug not the carpet itself!

Buy a can of foaming carpet spray. Spray the carpet and scrub with a damp mop. Once dry sprinkle with some carpet fresh and vacuum. If possible hang outside to air dry.=)

If it will ball up you can take it to the laundry mat and clean it. For my large ones that only roll, I take them out to my driveway and drip detergeant all over them then blast it with my hose. When all the soap it washed away, I hang it on my fence to dry in the sun for the day.

Ok here is what I do… I go to the laundry matt at about 8pmwhen hardly no one is around and put it in the industrial washer….. and there you have it… Good luck Grant M

Depends upon what it is made of. If a cotton rug, they wash like a rag; but there are pet odor removers available to use first.

    1) Veriuni Super Citrus Cleaner – without a doubt – its a ready-to-use cleaner for carpets.
You can also use it in conjunction with:
    2) Veriuni Stain Treatment – which safely removes organic-based stains utilizing the power of natural enzymes, leaving a fresh peppermint scent.
So there you are, you can kill two birds with one stone!!! Find them both at:
