I have purchased Pyrex storage pieces for many years now. You can use them in the freezer, refrig, microwave and oven (w/o the tops in the microwave and oven) without problems. The glass is sturdy, and doesn’t break easily.
I own about 6-12 each of different sizes and shapes. The rectangular ones are the most efficient to store in the refrigerator (you can get more cups of whatever in the same refrig space), and they stack well without bending the lids.
The glass lasts forever (except when you drop a piece on hard tile – that is the one downside).
I made the mistake of washing the lids from my 1st purchases in my dishwasher and that resulted in warping and edge cracking over the years (I still use them though). I hand wash the lids now and have not had this problem with the later ones.
I use the medium size (6-cup) and large size (11-cup) the most, but buying the 6-piece set (3 bowls/3 lids with a smaller size (3-cup)) is more cost effective.
I don’t use plastic storage containers unless I am giving them away with food.
The Pyrex cost more, but they don’t discolor and will save you money over the years (if you don’t drop them a lot).

After reading about all the scary stuff with BPA in plastics, and all kinds of bad effects I decided to go back to glass to store and re-heat my food. Pyrex is still the best: from freezer/fridge to oven/microwave to table. Safe and does the job. These are also quite attractive and you can serve from them. Okay everybody — throw out your plastic and go back to the basics with glass. It is not paranoid, just smart. These are good value too.

These are great for storing hot dogs, pizza, and other things that don’t fit the round set well. The larger sizes don’t really need to be so tall, they would have been just as functional for my purposes if they were flatter and took up less space, but there might be rare occasions in the future when I have use for their depth. I’ve had them for several months and they still function as new, look new too. I am very glad I bought them.
I like using Pyrex over stoneware because it is generally lighter and I have slight arms. I had to give my stoneware bakeware away because it was just too heavy. I now use Aluminum for baking and Pyrex for storing/reheating/serving.

There are only 3 containers in a package plus 3 lids for them – marketing trick !! That’s what is ment by 6 pieces.
Anyway, glass is good quality.Lids are OK, not very tight so you can’t keep liquids in them. I’m satisfied with quality overall.
Online is not cheaper! I never paid attention untill I recently noticed that my local food store has all these glass containers, different shapes and sizes and even at a lower prices.
