Product Description
The OXO Good Grips Seal & Store Rotary Grater lets you store you cheese right inside; a layer of silicone seals the Grater in the closed position, providing a closed chamber for storage. An additional cap on the barrel compartment ensures a complete seal so your cheese will not dry out. This easy to use Rotary Grater has a soft, comfortable rotating knob and a soft, non-slip handle and is perfect for grating cheese, chocolate, nuts and more.Amazon.com Review
Cheese, nuts, and chocolate can be grated ahead of time with this rotary grater, and stored conveniently right inside the silicone-sealed chamber until ready to use. Or, cut the exact size chunk you want to grate, insert it, seal it, and just before serving you can churn out a fresh sprinkle of parmesan on a casserole or flourish that whipped cream topping with a dusting of dark chocolate shavings. To use, squeeze the soft-grip handles with one hand, which causes the silicone-edged feeder to push the food against the sharp stainless-steel grating cylinder, and turn the soft rotating knob with the other hand. A plastic cap on the barrel keeps grated pieces contained, or removes to let the food grate directly into a bowl, on a pie, etc. The stainless-steel grating cylinder measures 3 by 1-1/2 inches, while overall the grater measures 6 by 5 by 3-1/4 inches. Easily disassembled for cleaning, the entire grater is dishwasher-safe. –Ann Bieri

I used this grater twice before the little black knob broke off when I was grating some pecorino romano cheese. It works well, but it is not of durable construction. It would probably work better with softer cheeses, but it certainly wasn’t worth the money I paid for it!

I bought this for hard cheese grating and it is horrible. I would not recommend this grater for hard cheeses.

Craptastic waste of money. Grater is not connected to handle enough and slipps on hard cheese (parm). It’s been thrown out and replaced with an all stainless model. I gave it one star, only because the system wouldn’t let me go negative.
Live and learn.

This is the third one I have bought. I love mine so much, and the design where you can put the cap on the end, and store your cheese in it, in the fridge. It has worked fine and is holding up great. The other two I have purchased have been for gifts. I use it all the time.

I got a traditional grater very soon after buying this one. For the money, it’s a pretty good value, but it grates messily, is hard to clean, and is very uncomfortable to use. Also comes apart if you’re not careful while grating. My cheese always came out lumpy, and forget about grating veggies. Blades are very dull. Nice if you feel like you have to have a rotary grater and don’t want to pay too much. But only use for very soft foods.
