Product Description
Proline meat tenderizer has multiple uses as its base is reversible. The flat surface can be used for chicken and other delicate meats, the spiked surface for beef and pork, and it can also be used to crush garlic or nuts. Its heavy duty design make it sturdy to use and it’s dishwasher safe. The sleek design compliments its superb performance.

After trying “hammer” style meat pounders, I must say that I prefer the control of this style. The Leifheit pounder is a solid, comfortable piece. It is well machined, has a tough chrome finish, but it is not made in Germany. For the price though it gets the job done.

I got this because I was looking for something better than the little meat hammer I’ve used since I was a boy. I had made some chicken piccata and had pretty much shredded the meat with the hammer – mostly, I think, because of its small surface area. This has a nice big surface – I used it on some more chicken piccata and it worked fine. I also like its ability to tenderize meat (you unscrew the handle and screw it in on the other side so the prongs stick out. I haven’t tried this, but it looks like it’ll do the job. You have better control over the hammer action, I think, because you grasp the tool and your arm becomes the hammer handle, so to speak. There’s a plastic piece that goes between the handle and the hammer surface. I think it keeps the handle tight. Looks like it’d be easy to lose when cleaning.

Nice, solid….easy to use and clean. Much better than a hammer type for me.The tenderizing spikes act as spacers that allow me to get meats a uniform thickness for consistent cooking.
