Is there any way to seal shrinkwrap without using a sealer?

Can I seal the shrinkwrap edges by using something like an iron, or hot hair straightener? I only need to shrinkwrap one thing, and I would like to be able to seal the bag without purchasing a shrinkwrap sealer. Thanks! I know that I can use a hairdryer to shrink the wrap itself, but my question is about sealing the bag prior to shrinking. Thanks for any help!
Detailed instructions on how to seal would be very much appreciated!

tape the edges and then use the hair dryer, it will create a seam. Don’t leave any edges untaped or they will curl up.

    Yes, it takes some practice.

A hot knife (heated over the stove) works ok.
