I’m thinking of getting a memory foam topper for my bed. Any recommendations for thickness?

It seems like a 1″ or 2″ wouldn’t be thick enough to make much difference. On the other hand, it seems like a 10″ would be too much. I’m looking for any input.

Hi, My hip joints were bothering me and the memory foam topper relieved this and I sleep better now. The one I purchased is just under 3 inches and made my bed much more comfortable. I purchased mine from costco and love it. Hope this helps.

Are you getting it because your bed is too firm or because your mattress is in bad condition? Nothing will fix a poor mattress. Remember that foam gasses off chemicals. Some of the foam toppers really stink and can cause throat and breathing problems. Definitely make sure there’s a return policy. Also remember that foam will reflect your body heat, so you may be sleeping in a pool of sweat. Some of the hypoallergenic mattress toppers may be a better bet. Look for a sale at BBB or LNT and use the store coupons.

6″ is ideal…I purchased one on EBAY, it is the best thing I’ve ever bought! My husband & I both have bad backs, since this was bought…our aches & pains are minimal.

    I got 7cm topper (that’s just under 3″)

It was the best thing I ever did for a good nights sleep

Ask if the store has a 30 day return policy (with no dedutions) in case you don’t like it.
