This song always reminds me of you prymygunwhenIdy & the days in the wind river range I shared with you. You have always had my respect, you are very much a gentleman & 1 tough bad ass when need be. Just an all around cool guy! How much happier could I be that you are my friend! I know you always say you found me in the yellow pages, but was it fate or destiny?

Giveitallthegusto, you are a sad, strange person.

This song always take me back in thought to a Wyoming Rodeo Cowboy- The Bridger Wilderness Outfitter is still my dear loved friend to this day- He ALWAYS WILL BE-There was an instant attraction the second our eyes met! I said “Oh lord, just give me 1 night with this handsome Cowboy-how VERY lucky I was…HE GAVE ME MANY! We went 6000 miles across the USA & spent his$30,000. havin pure ass FUN! This rough tough Cowboy,is thought to be the Marlboro man by many-I am waking him up in a few minutes!

This song brings me back to when I was little, driving to go skiing with my Dad. I can’t believe he broke his voice, he’ll never sound like this again :(

No wonder I have loved it…didn’t know Ian wrote it!

Up until July 27th of 09 there was a great Classic Country music station In Halifax, 780 KIXX. They played this song everyday at some point. Brings back great memories.

  22. Crudeheart says:

Ian is a true Canadian ICON. His music is all to his own. A must difficult person to mimic. He has many good songs. My favourite album is Cowboyography followed closely with “Old Correls and Sagebrush”.

  23. Sheeut says:

ya me to, cowboyography so awesome

  24. MrBuckwilliam says:

an excellent song by an excellent performer

  25. flomurdock says:

Jerry Jeff Walker cover – what kind of nonsense is that??? It’s Ian’s song, all the way. People who think they know music always make comments like that, and they are always wrong.

Cowboyography, as mentioned above, is one of the most iconic albums of all time, in a perfect world it would have finished in the Top 10 of the year it was released. Ian and Tom Russell wrote it, Tom does an OK version on Poor Man’s Dream, but Ian owns it.
