Correct. Westwood made a video game adaption of the movie and included some footage from the movie in the trailer for it, which was included in Commander & Conquer Tiberian Dawn, I think.

Got this baby on Blu-ray and the full metal tin directors cut. I love Vangelis’ music in the way that I love Tangerine Dream.
    Great work on the editing!

Before Back to the Future Part II and the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, there was Blade Runner. Those later movies paid tribute to Blade Runner by having “Spinner” type flying cars in their movies — what an awesome movie!

Not just an art but a fantastic capturing of reality. Digital images are just cartoons.

    Why is it so fast?

    great clip….

This was made when hollywood still had a hardcore minority of ambitious creative visionary people but unfortunately the suits who now run the place are unwilling to take chances – terminator 4 for #$ck sake; what’s the point?
Even films like Crash which hollywood would deem as arty (and duly rewarded) is standard, dumbed down fare to a european audience. The 70’s showed what the yanks are capable of but where once stood Marlon Brando there now stands tom cruisologist.

    Those effects…are so….awesome!

Ridley Scott’s best project to date. I love this movie. Now I want to see it again. It must be amazing in Blu-ray. Love your video; terrific work on editing for certain. It’s a gem!

Just watched the huge documentary that accompanies the final cut of Blade Runner, and hearing how much blood, sweat and tears went into the making of this timeless movie only makes me love it even more. One of the best sci fi movies ever made, no doubt.

I own the dvds too so amazing. I wish I was introduced to Blade Runner earlier in my life. I saw it for the first time 3 months ago and fell in love as soon as the title screen ended…

If you’re into books too, you should try reading the one Blade Runner is loosely based on – Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick. It’s interesting to see just how different it is from the film. A lot of Dick’s books are worth a read if you like sci fi and dark humour :)

I remeber them mentioning that book in The “Dangerous Days.” dvd I will have to check it out. Thanks.

It is also amazing how Vastly important it is for the right team to be selected to do the film adaptation or you will end up with a train wreck like Watchmen.

  25. ineedtolikeyou says:

Funny you mention Watchmen (few good things, many bad things about that movie). The music composer for that film drew some inspiration from Vangelis for a few of the tracks in the score to try and give the film the 80’s atmosphere that they were going for.
