Where can I find the little bolt which holds my restaurant- style (24-inch) pepper mill together?

I’ve already been to 5 old-fashioned, full-service, independent hardware stores. I should have stated this already. My nearest hardware store expert actually gave me a capital bolt which will barely hold the top on, but doesn’t tighten it or allow me to change the size of the grind.

For myself, I ALWAYS use my local OLD FASHIONED HARDWARE STORE!!!!!

The big box, home improvement centers never carry the array of nuts and bolts that the old style hardware stores do.

They may not have the identical bolt and nut as it may have been custom manufactured with the pepper mill, BUT… I’ll bet that they can find a bolt that will do the job.
