Product Description
The Wolfgang Fresh Flour Grain Mill is the fast and easy way to make fresh flour from whole grains at home. Although it has an overall height of only 13 1/4 inches, it is equipped with the grinding capacity of the largest mills. Whether you are grinding barley, oats, millet, corn, rice, rye, wheat, or spelt, Wolfgang can take care of them all. The funnel holds up to 2.2 pounds of whole grains, and it effeortlessly transforms your grain into the finest flour. It is infinitely adjustable, allowing you to decide how coarse or fine you want to make your flour. The ceramic-corundum millstones are extremely durable and will last for years. The Wolfgang Grain Mill is encased in a beautiful, solid-beech cabinet and has been engineered to last for years. It’s sleek profile looks great in any kitchen.

It is heavy, as quiet as could be expected, beautiful, and mills everything except popcorn (not recommended, don’t ask). This is one of the few kitchen appliances my wife enjoyed receiving on our anniversary. (I thought the vacuum was nice too, but, that’s another story.)

The wonderful reviews are what helped shape my purchase almost a year ago. I absolutely love my grain mill. Admittedly, it is the first one I’ve ever owned so I cannot compare it much to anything first hand. It is simple to use and I’ve had great results with baking from my freshly milled flour (and I’m a complete novice). There is no clean up involved, which is the best! Just push it to the back of the counter — voila! I mill the flour directly into what I freeze my extra flour in and scoop out what I’m using fresh right then, so there are no containers or parts to clean from the milling process. Although my flour is a bit warm coming out of the shoot, it is apparently heated less than other machines and hopefully maintains the integrity of the nutrients better. I wouldn’t go as far to say that it purrs or hums, but it is quieter than the normal plastic machines.
I wish the instructions were more thorough…but I guess because it’s so simple they decided you didn’t need a 100 page manual to explain how to turn a dial and press an on button. I’m use to big manuals and felt a bit jipped considering the price I paid — not even one recipe! It would have been nice of them to offer suggestions on how fine to mill grain (or varieties of grain) for those of us new to the concept. Oh well, I can operate it with no problem, so perhaps it saved trees.
The warranty is not as impressive as the plastic mills out there (this one has 3 years), but there’s not much to break on it. The unit is basically maintenance free — just throw a handful of rice through it to clean it out if you haven’t used the mill (or won’t use it) for a long while, or also if flour starts builds up (maybe the last grain was too moist). On one occasion, the motor shut off after using it for several packages of grain…I believe one of them may have been too moist. I panicked and figured I’d broken my expensive mill. But after it sat for a while (longer than the instruction sheet said), it did turn on again. I threw the rice in to clean the mechanism and the mill was and has been fine ever since. I usually mill about 3 lbs at a time, as I mix my grains.
Despite my criticism on the warranty and instructions and my grumblings about the pricepoint — hence the 4 stars intstead of 5 — I would definitely recommend this mill and am very pleased with my purchase. I don’t shell out this amount of money lightly, but the wolfgang’s simplicity and functionality are worth the price…it stays out and I use it. That’s why I bought this model and not the bulky plastic type.

Every once in awhile you come across a product that seems to have it all – simplicity, beautiful design, solid craftsmanship and does what it is supposed to do without a lot of drama. THIS is that product!
Also, a special “thanks” to the earlier review and “comments” section that provided a resource to a much more competitively priced seller. I purchased mine via the same and had only a pleasant experience plus happily saved a tidy sum!
Although we love the flavor and smell of fresh baked bread, traditional store flour always seemed to lack that extra flavor so we recently decided to take the plunge and begin to grind our own. After doing a lot of homework, I decided an eletric one would be something we were more inclined to use on a regular basis. The wondermill/whispermill seemed to have a lot of negative reviews on external websites and one large distributor that sells whole grains reported having so many complaints with the former company they did not recommend it. Also, I didn’t like the fact it was not fully adjustable – essentially you get one choice…very fine. Because we also like to eat hot cereals in the morning, the ability to select various grinding settings was a very important consideration.
This product works beautifully and is pretty quiet…less noise than either or our juicers! Attractive enough to leave on the counter, it adds just a couple minutes to the entire process of making bread. It tackles nearly all grains with ease (no popcorn!) and we have put several through it already just to see how it performs.
Exceptionally pleased. Perfect for those that desire a simple way to grind their own grain on a regular basis without hassle, exertion or clean-up.
As a side note…absolutely could not believe the difference in flavor using freshly ground grain! Just replaced with same old recipe and aroma was notably different, taste was incredible. If you haven’t yet made the switch – don’t wait! Only regret was we didn’t do this years ago!

After considering this purchase for a long time, I am particularly happy with the decision to buy. The mill grinds flour finer than my hand cranked mill. No cleanup, easy to use, measure as you grind, and quick results. It’s one of the few appliances I leave on the counter. My daughter-in-law, who has always liked her grain mill (Family) was envious of the difference between hers and mine. Great product!

I bought a very similar model(Komo Fidibus Medium) of this gain mill from the same company and I was impressed. This mill looks great but works even better. Flour comes out fine, very similar to the flour I bought in stores. It comes out a little warm but not hot. I researched a lot of grain mills and I think this one ranks on the top for home use.
