    why would you buy this?

seiously, if you eat so much fried food every day that you actively have to try and cut down your oil intake then it’s time to look at your diet.

tasty fried food prepared in a normal fryer is fine in moderation.

The Actifry was recently featured on BBC’s Watchdog consumer programme. There is a safety issue in that the fan inside some of the fryers can jam and potentially cause a fire.

Tefal’s helpline number is 0800 055 3678 in the UK.

These are fantastic. The chips are brilliant, although I haven’t used it for anything else, mainly as I’m vegetarian. Also, the point about them catching fire: the fire was clearly shown to be contained within the machine. The only damage caused was to the fryer, and personally if my Actifry caught fire, I would just buy another one straightaway!

Oh, the usual “everything in moderation is fine” rubbish. Are you a nutrition expert? I don’t understand why people try to convince others not to eat healthier food. Do yourself a favour and read the China Study.

What the F— is the point in a Fryer that takes 45 minutes to cook chips…. you could just use the oven. Rubbish.

Yeah a mean isnt the point in deep fat frying to cook food quicker, this Just looks like a Lazy Oven to me, and the chips probably just taste like oven chips. I dont see many ppl forkin out £150 for these any time soon and I certainly wont be.

It exagerrates, it takes 30 minutes. And the point isn’t that it’s faster, but that it’s FRIED chips (oven chips are horrible) using just 1 spoon of oil.

Nope, they taste fried, and really nice. Its not just chips either, you can use it for other stuff, we put 6 sausages in, and it cooked them properly in 12 minutes, with no oil or anything, and it keeps the juciness in.

    Here’s a tip …… AVOID !
I had one, and 4 months after the warranty ran out, it went up in smoke. The problem is well known – it has been on TV in the UK with so many machines burning out !
