Is there a good infrared thermometer for $50ish that’s worth buying or should you spend more for one?

Good point brought up by the 1 st answer. I’d like to use it for oven temp testing and for the foods within it.

    I think it depends on what you will use it for, and how accurate it needs to be. I found this: http://www.cutleryandmore.com/details.asp?SKU=11227, when looking for surface scanning thermometers.
