For porcelain tubs, sinks, and toilets you can use a pumice stone. These are not like the pumice stones you would use on your feet, the hardware stores sell a coarser stone for toilets and things. This only works for porcelain and it will not scratch it. I wouldn’t use it on plastice tubs or anything else. For plastic tubs and other kids of tubs, you might use a Mr Clean magic eraser. This is only if you don’t want to chance it with chemicals

The best product to use for this problem is called “C.L.R”. It removes calcium, lime or rust buildup on or in most anything. You can even run it through kettles or coffee makers if you live in an area with hard water that can build up residue and clog these appliances. You can find it in department or home stores ( in with the cleaning supplies ) Just follow the directions and rinse well. Good luck!

Iron out is the strongest thing on the market that wont take the porcelien finish off you tub. There are other product that say they take out iron like CLR and Lime Away. But from my experiacne i’ve found they don’t do the same job Iron out does. My only suggestion is to try these other products and cross your fingers. Otherwise you can get your tub and sink recoated if the stains really bother you that much.
