How many square feet are in a round table with a 60″ diameter table top?

I am trying to calculate the weight of a round granite slab table top, so that I can buy a table base that can hold it. I know that the 3cm thick granite slab weighs 18 lbs./sq. ft. but I’m not sure how to calculate how many square feet are in a 60″ diameter round table top. Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Homosex Is Wrong says:

    raduis x radius x 3.14 = sq. ft. of a circle.

    2.5 x 2.5 x 3.14 = 19.625 sq. ft.

  2. BRIAN C says:

So to keep in nice round figures you can call it 20 square feet – multiply that by 18lbs/sq ft and you get 360 lbs.

  3. Farm bred, grain fed, all natural says:

    3.14 X 2.5 x 2.5 = 19.625 sq. ft.

  4. stevetower says:

19.68 this is 2.5 squared times Pi, 3.1415
