How do you make a humidifier smell better?

We use a humidifier in my 8 month-old son’s room and it smells stale. I’ve changed the filter and we change the water every night, but it still smells sour. And it’s definitely the humidifier – not the diaper pail, as I used that humidifier in a different, diaperless room before and got the same smell. Any suggestions?

If you find that your humidifier begins to smell musty four or five days after it has been cleaned, add a tablespoon of bleach to the water. “This will make it smell fresh again”

put a few drops of fresh lemon juice in the water. Clean with white vinegar water/solution (I believe it’s 1/4 cup vinegar with 1 gallon of water).

spray good smellish stuff in front of it and have it dangle down so the air gets it.

Clean it regulary. Or you could put peperment sticks in the water.
