How can I get the stains out of my slow-cooker?
I made my corned beef and cabbage in my white slow cooker and now it has gray stains on it and I can’t get it clean. How can I get these stains out and what could have caused it? Some kind of reaction from the cabbage? HELP!

Spray the surfaces with ordinary oven cleaner. Let that set for about 1 hour. Works best on a warm surface, so a bit of heat to the pot will help. Then wipe the surfaces with scotchbrite pad. That will remove cooking stains that are embeded in the surface of ceramics without damage to the surface.
The oven cleaner also works well on baking trays, casserole dishes and on pots and pans.

bleach water let it soak then wash it and let it air dry an in the future you can spray your slow cooker with cooking spray before you cook in it it will not stain also you can do that to tupperware when you put tomato sauce in it an it will not stain the container just a light spray

I’m wondering what kind of insert you have in your slow cooker. I’m assuming its ceramic? You can try a few things to get it out:
1) Baking soda and a soft/bottle brush works really well
2) If it’s more stain that stuck on, you can also try the powder cleaner you get for coffee makers. (I use cleancaf from Gevalia in mine, but I know there are several other versions out there). If your coffee pot is clean, you can run it through there and use the piping hot water with solution in your slow cooker. If you’re not sure (or don’t have a coffee pot *gasp*) put the solution in a glass measuring cup and fill it with boiling water before adding it to your slow cooker. Keep adding hot water until you cover the area with the stains and let it sit for a while. Make sure you clean it like normal after you’ve let it sit (I would probably let it sit long enough for the water to go cold) with dishwashing detergent to get any residue off.

You know those tablets they make to soak your dentures in? Well your crock pot is the same material and they work great for removing stains.
