The softener seems to be coming out of the dispenser holes in chunks. I’m not sure if it is because the dispenser is dirty or if it is further into the mechanism. Is there something that came be poured into the softener dispenser so that it will clean it out in a wash cycle? Any ideas?

I heat a pan of water on the stove almost to boiling and carefully pour iit in the softner dispenser, it seems to melt the chunks and clean it out. You might have to do it a couple of times. Then run the rinse cycle to clear it out.
